A nice illustration from @’s @ Exercise 1 in Seattle a few weeks back. It wasn’t in our notes, but I wanted to keep for future use so thought I’d share.
There is an inverse relationship between posture and respiration. As the load increases, it becomes increasingly important to brace and maintain good posture to avoid injury. Less emphasis on respiration. (This is why I’m such a stickler with form). But as endurance demands increase, it’s more important to gain oxygen to working and fatiguing muscles, possibly compromising form. Although, both are needed at all times to some extent no matter the activity. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
