On my hike up the Precipice Trail for sunset, I ended up hiking along with these two. They had taken a road trip to Acadia for the week, and had traveled over 7 hours one way just to get there. It was their first time visiting just like I. We ended up talking together for quite some time, finishing the trail together, and then parting ways as it was getting dark. It kinda felt like a friendship was developing in just that short amount of time that we hiked. That’s one thing I love about the hiking community. For the most part, everyone you encounter has no barriers up that you encounter normally in everyday life. Everyone seems so willing to spread life, and to share generosity. People are people, and not just going about their daily routines in their own bubble. Even though I doubt I’ll see them again, it was pretty incredible to get to know these two for that one hike.
