2, hell 1 year ago I would have never let someone see me without a shirt on, much less post it for the internet (including the trillions of trolls out there) to see.
But in the words of Weezy "Confidence is a stain they can't wipe off" and there's never been a time in my life when I've been more confident.
I've gone from being the lanky pale boy in high school, to the slightly less lanky, but still not fit Soldier after high school, to the fuck the freshman 15, he's going strong with the freshman 50 in college, to who is that, in his mid-20's he's like twice the dude he was in his early 20's, to 4 years ago a record high nearly 350 pounds.
This isn't a fat shaming post -- that's not my game and never has been. I'm not an idiot, science, DNA lots of shit contributes to being overweight. And shit, sometimes, being large is actually healthy for some.
It wasn't for me. All the overweight folks in my family, myself included, got that way due to poor choices, addiction and simply not giving a fuck.
Over a month ago a former pastor posted a before and after of himself, he's on a fitness journey too. I saw it and said, "damn, a little dedication goes a long way." And, being the often irrational decision maker I am (yes really) I challenged myself to 30 days of gym visits... No less than an hour a day. Pictured above are the results. Today is day 30, I'm posting this then heading out the door. The best part is, in addition to dropping 6 pounds, and toning up I feel fucking amazing! I've rarely ever complete something I start... Just look at all the books whose chapters are half read. I got very sick, hurt my knee and back had a major house plumbing catastrophe and haven't missed a day. The results speak for themselves and after today, I still plan on being in the gym for at least an hour at least 6 days a week. Soon, when it cools off, I'll be able to take #WillsWeekly5K to the streets and trails and I will be the healthiest, happiest me ever.
The #'s cause I'm a 🤓:
Start weight: 247.1
30 days of gym workouts was...
2,143,938 lbs of total weight volume
6 hours 49 minutes and 48 seconds of total cardio
