One of the biggest concerns we hear when we tell people we plan to continue to move and explore is about what kind of stability we are providing for our kids.
It seems that without some “legitimate” reason to move, mobility is misunderstood.
Stability can be whatever you make it. It can mean planting and providing your kiddos with a home on a foundation, or it can mean taking home with you. I am in awe by all the ways people make a home for their families.
For us, stability isn’t a place. It lies in the foundation of who we are as a family. It’s about being there for each other, responding to our kids’ needs, loving and guiding them towards learning about global citizenship. Because they aren’t just citizens of our own tribe, they are citizens of the world.
When you think of stability as a function rather than as a place, it all becomes much more open to interpretation.
