👀 Dr. James Thompson comes from a strong optometry background. He is a fourth-generation optometrist. He graduated with his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, practiced in Dawson Creek for ten years, & then moved to North Vancouver in 1985.
Dr. Thompson practices general optometry with special interest in brain injury, stroke rehabilitation and learning disorders. He is a member of the British Columbia Association of Optometrists, the Canadian Association of Optometrists, The College of Syntonic Optometry, the Neuro Optometric Rehabilitation Association & the College of Vision Development. He is a full therapeutic member of the British Columbia College of Optometrists. He has also taken post-graduate courses in Behavioural Optometry from the Optometric Extension Program & is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Thompson & his wife Janice have two grown children & two young grandchildren. Outside the office, he enjoys riding his motorcycle, travelling & camping. He follows news avidly, is a scout leader & active Rotary participant. .
