I love my Afro. My father used to say that my curly coif was indicative of my personality; wild, rebellious, free, bold, and beautiful. There are even times when I’m meeting new people and I make it a point to wear my hair as is. I am learning to love my hair and try new styles with hair outside of my go-to Afro puffs or a Frohawk. It’s been a few years since I’ve worn Bantu knots. It was my style I rocked when I was sick and didn’t want my tresses matted flat to my head when I would be stuck in the bed for days on end. I love this style and it’s beautiful. Today I decided to wear the Bantu knots on a well day, out of the bed day, and be comfortable whether the Fro is all over my head or twisted in style.
