Green smoothie time 💚 I’ve been loving my morning smoothies recently 😋 I simply chop and freeze all the ingredients and then chuck a handful of each into my BOSS blender by @sageappliances every morning 🙌🏻 so simple, so easy, and perfect for on the go mornings (so I can spend more time in bed) 😉 recipe for this gorgeous green smoothie below 👇🏻 - - 1 cup of kale (or 2 handfuls) 1/2 cup of mango (or 1 handful) 1/2 cup of apple (or 1 handful) 1/4 cup of cashews (or 1 small handful) 1/2 - 1 cup of almond milk or water Optional: 1 inch piece of grated ginger - Simply blitz for a minute or two until smooth. The truth in this 🙌🏼💚 • After finishing off the semester last year, I was exhausted in every way. I had been so busy with study, work and other commitments- I severely underestimated how much I needed to rest and recover. I have definitely been guilty of ‘blurring the line between commitment and self-endangerment’, while believing that in order to be successful I had to always be busy. I operated this way for years with very little rest- until my body started screaming at me to slow down. SO many of us operate in this ‘busy is better’ mind-frame- it’s glorified in Western culture. In my opinion, it has a huge influence on disease, as well as mental, hormonal and reproductive health in our population. Fatigue and stress are two of the most influential factors on our overall health and well-being. Walking in nature 🍃🍃 My FAVOURITE type of mindfulness activity 🙏🏼 The act of mindfulness looks different for everyone. For me, I like to practice mindfulness by either meditating, laying with my feet up again a wall, reading a book, having a cup of herbal tea in my backyard, doing some yoga or going for a walk outside in the fresh air. There is no right or wrong way to practice mindfulness, everybody has different ways of doing it but it is so important that everyone includes a little mindfulness in their lives every day. Write a list of the types of mindfulness practices you would like to explore and try as many as you can until you find one or a couple that work for you and make you happy. You only need to engage in the activity for a minimum of 5-10 minutes to feel the benefits 🙌🏼 and I guarantee once you do this consistently for a few weeks you will be hooked and won’t know how you ever lived without mindfulness ✨✨✨✨ If you would like some more info or don’t know where to start, send me a message and we can work on it together! #mindfulness

An IBS flare up, a full on bloat... it left me feeling tired, weak, fat and shit (excuse the pun). A week ago, I posted a photo to my Instagram feed, and received so many "omg abs" and "your stomach" comments. Can't say that the compliments are so sweet, but I almost feel like there's part of me not being truthful. Chocolate spread by @therawberry Headover to her page for loads of delicious healthy recipes! #recipe 👇 ➕➕INGREDIENTS 450 g hazelnuts 75 g maple syrup 4 tbsp cacao powder 1/2 tbsp vanilla powder . ⏩⏩Instructions Preheat the oven to 350°F. Put the hazelnuts onto a baking tin and roast for about 10 minutes. Let the nuts fully cool down bevor going over to the next step. Place the nuts in your food processor and put on maximum speed until a paste forms. Turn down to a medium speed and let it mix for another 5 minutes. The hazelnut butter should now be really smooth. Add the remaining ingredients to your food processor and mix briefly. Fill the chocolate spread into a jar or in an airtight container and store in your fridge. The wisest words ❤❤ I have posted this before and I think I will post it again and again forever. We are constantly told losing weight will make us happy, that things get better when you shift five or ten pounds. The biggest lesson I have learnt is that true health is a balanced health. I used to miss out on so much for fear of having to eat bad foods or having to drink. That that 5% would make all the difference. Learning to embrace and love an extra few pounds is best thing I ever did. The wonderful peeps @picspeanutbutter sent me an EPIC PB package in celebration of PB day...how cool is that? See my Tories for more 😉📦 Pics is hands-down the best PB in the world & it’s made right here in little NZ 🇳🇿 Thanks guys for making me an official Picster 😀🥜 . SO...I had to make a PB recipe today! I also used the other goodies in the package from @heilalavanilla @queenfinefoods & @bluecoconutnz to make these 🤗 . Recipe (serves 2) Pancake ingredients: ½ cup oat flour (processed from rolled oats – use GF if required 2 tbsp. peanut flour 1 scoop (12.5g) vanilla plantbased pea protein powder @nuzestnz 2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk @almondbreezenz 1 tsp. maca powder @matakanasuperfoods 1 tbsp. chia seeds @matakanasuperfoods 1 tbsp. granulated stevia @natvianaturalsweetener (adjust to taste) ½ banana 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla extract @heilalavanilla . To serve: 3 – 4 tbsp. natural peanut butter @picspeanutbutter Remaining banana, sliced Maple syrup @queenfinefoods Optional: strawberries . Method: 1. Blend/process all pancake ingredients until smooth. Set aside for 10mins. 2. Stir rested batter - should be thick, but add a touch more milk if it looks far too dry. 3. Cook over low heat in a pan greased with @bluecoconutnz coconut oil. 4. Stack the cooked pancakes & drizzle with peanut butter. Add sliced banana & optional strawberries. Drizzle over some maple syrup & serve. YUM! .
