It’s much harder for me to shoot in places I’ve grown up in. There’s a sense of familiarity that reduces the appetite of discovery and drive to find the perfect shots - whereas finding motivation, inspiration, and perspectives for photographs feels much easier while traveling. Today, while location scouting in San Francisco, I couldn’t get any worthy shots before the sun set and I had to go home, but I decided I wanted to take home at least one shot. So, on my way out of the city, I stopped by Treasure Island and found a spot I knew about from other photographers and grabbed this shot. Then I decided it was my shot for the day.
