I was in a rush today (surprise) and had to stop somewhere to grab lunch. I checked in myfitnesspal to see if the chic fil a menu was as decent as I had thought. - - Well, what I used to get all the time (2 grilled chicken sandwiches and a spicy chicken) definitely isn’t the best choice, especially if you’re watching your sodium. - - But I did see that one fruit and yogurt parfait with one grilled chicken sandwich isn’t a bad combo! - - Total macros for both are...- 4️⃣8️⃣0️⃣ Calories - 1️⃣2️⃣ Fat - 5️⃣4️⃣ Carbs - 3️⃣9️⃣ Proteinsss - Only about 800mg of sodium too, which for fast food isn’t that bad. - - You don’t need to sacrifice health and progress for convenience!!!! I made a trip to the #Amish store in Guthrie, #KY today with the amazing @thosebrighteyes to stock up on things I can’t get elsewhere. #wholeoatgtoats are one of my staple ingredients I #musthave in my #pantry. Super #cheap and #versatile. This is what an #oat looks like before it’s cut into #steelcutoats or smashed into #rolledoats. The #wholegrain #groat still has the #bran intact and therefore is much higher in #fiber, #protein, and minerals like #calcium and #iron. You can replace rice in many #recipes with whole #oat groats and increase the #nutrition profile by a significant amount. You can also make #oatmilk for literally less than a dollar a gallon, whereas purchasing it commercially made is much more expensive. If you like #oats, you really need to try the whole version and experiment with it.

How a bad diet can cause lower back pain part 2. In part 1 we looked at how intolerances and pro inflammatory foods can result in pain in the lower back. Today we look at how one of the most overlooked things in our life, water, rather lack thereof, can begin effecting your lumbar. Let's say you're dehydrated and you haven't been drinking the water you're supposed to. As you begin eating and chewing your food, your digestive processes have already begun. If you are dehydrated in this situation a few things begin to happen. As you continue masticating your food, you begin producing saliva and accompanying enzymes preparing it for digestion in the stomach. Unfortunately however in most cases, not enough saliva is produced and foodd are not adequately prepared for digestion and this is where our problems begin. Your body wants you to survive and in order to combat dehydration, will begin scavenging water from organs such as the mucuc membrane (stomach lining) of your stomach as well as other organs. Now food arrives in your stomach already prepared poorly for digestion and HCL (hydrochloric acid) is released to aid in digestion. Your mucus membrane is already robbed of any moisture and in this instance is unprotected from the HCL, creating what we call a reflex inhibition of the abdominals. As we saw from part 1, when the abdominals become inhibited we are introduced and become susceptible to injury. Our abdominals are what supports our spine, acting as stabilizers, without which, we are more prone to pulling something in the lower back because there is more work to be done. Nevermind exercises as we begin to feel our lower back from the simplest of activities such as picking something up, mowing the lawn, or even shoveling snow. All because we didn't drink enough water. Our bodies are like machines made to last a hundred years, but when we begin removing screws and bolts from one part and placing it in other areas, we begin seeing problems arise simply because that's not how it was designed to operate.
