Bath night, but no big mess to clean up? That can only mean one thing: These 4 squirts are finally ready for adoption! Tomorrow they will be seeing the vet for their health exams, dewormings, and vaccinations.
I feel terrible that I have not properly documented my time with these lovelies. With Jae’s ginormous family and all their recent announcements, plus Anya taking up a lot of the spotlight, her siblings seem to have fallen behind the scenes. Of course, that is based on social media presence alone, not at all on the attention I give them or the love I have for them!
From first to last, we have Gustus, Lincoln, Indra, and Nyko. You can probably tell by Nyko’s face that he did NOT enjoy his bath, but surprisingly, everyone else loved theirs! This crew has such a variety of personalities between the 5 of them, but one thing that is absolutely constant is that they are all PURR MACHINES!
I’m pretty torn up about tonight being their last night at home. Not only for my own emotion, but also for Anya’s. Even though she hasn’t been able to live with her siblings (for fear of hurting her ribs, or damaging her brace), Anya has remained very bonded with each of her family members. I’ve always made sure that she’s had some supervised play/cuddle time with at least one of them each day. Today however, her brace was adjusted again, and I can tell she’s feeling uncomfortable. It breaks my heart that I can’t even give her one last “goodbye” play session. I will make sure she sees them in the morning before they leave, but I wish there were a way to make her understand what was going on.
Thinking about packing them up in the morning, I’m sitting on my kitchen floor, crying, holding a very damp Lincoln, while Nyko licks my arm, and Indra and Gustus curl up in my lap (also still damp, but I don’t care). These guys are NOT making “good bye” easy! 😂
These babies have come a long way since being left in a box in the snow, scared and cold and hungry. They have brought me an immeasurable amount of joy with their sweet, goofy natures, just as I know they will do tenfold for their future families.
Individual bios to come 💙
