The little mermaid 2.0, part 2/3:
The day when she found her best friend Flounder floating belly up at the top of her cave still haunted Ariel in her dreams. Was it karma? Was her obsession with all things human turning back on her? Did her secret collection of “Ariel washing powder” plastics bring about Flounder’s death?
After that tragic day, Ariel’s angelic singing voice no longer praised the sweet underwater life. No, it was from then on equally filled with grief and rage. Her words reflected the sea creatures fear and helplessness towards the plastic pollution. Her powerful, emotional songs quickly found resonance on the interweb – much more than her cheerful pop tunes ever did. Even among the ocean-pollution-deniers, those blind idiots who played down the drastic effect the plastics were having on ocean life! And now, here she was after her last concert on her ocean-wide tour. After all the sorrow and anger, Ariel only felt drained and listless. She felt a strange urge to visit the place where it all began: the GPC. Maybe that would finally give her peace.
