I have one more day to the #shred10 tomorrow. I did my best to do all of the things on the list. Several things are easy for me to do(no alcohol~I don’t drink, dairy, gluten, and artificial sweeteners). I did do better with getting the 80 oz of water, exercising 3-4 times a week, 7-8 hrs of sleep 😴, and not eating past 7(this I had difficulty with a couple of days). Now for eating #real #food. I love this picture that a person I’m friends with used in a post, so I took it 🤷‍♀️. The person on the left.... well that truly was me in my teens, 20s and the beginning part of my 30s. I wasn’t choosing #wisely. Why? Because I didn’t know any better. In my early 30s, I started to learn about nutrition and the role it plays in health. I wanted to become the person on the right. But how on earth was I going to get that much produce into my diet to help me and my family take back our health. See we would get #sick several times each year. Not fun! Well, thankfully someone cared enough one day to share with me a #simple solution on how I could #easily get a wide variety of produce into my family’s diet each day. Ok, back at it. I stayed at home and did a full body weight workout. One of my faves.💕 I always go back to the basic one. It’s simplistic, yet challenging, and guaranteed to make me sore in the morning 😉🙃 I cranked up the heat in my office so it would get super hot while I worked out🤣🤣 I’m convinced hot yoga has changed my body. Day 9 ALMOST THERE! 😁 It hasn't been a perfect journey but that's the beauty of it. We practice healthy habits within a supportive community once a month and then live that practice within our own crazy, busy, mixed up lives before taking a chance again the next month to learn more, do more and build better lives. And this month, we have a 2nd round starting Monday! Let me know if you want in.🖐 Like this proverb, whether you shred qith us or make one simple change there's a focus on increasing nutrient dense foods so our bodies can do the AMAZING things they were designed to do. Every day there is more scientific evidence that what's at the end of our fork has more to do with health, healing, avoiding disease and competing optimally than working out - although movement/exercise is a critical piece and there are many others, too! You cant run a premium car for long on regular fuel and bodies are no different. While our bodies will compensate for weeks, months, years and even a lifetime lacking what it needs to perform optimally, we know now everything from our digestive, cardiovascular, immune, pulmonary and even neurological and DNA (DNA, people!) can repair, change, heal just by increasing nutrients and variety of nutrients the body receives. Is it just me? What benefit have you received by changing what's on the end of your fork or in your glass/bottle?
