Reverse dieting is commonly followed by professional athletes after their diet phase and competition. It can help you too as an amateur to maintain your effort done while dieting. When you were dieting you created an energy deficit so you can achieve lower body fat levels, the weight loss efforts will be counteracted by a number of metabolic adaptations. Meaning, your body is able to operate at a lower energy (heart beats slower, you burn less energy during non-exercise activities…) and burn fewer calories. If the proper dietary adjustments aren’t made to account when finishing the diet, the body will store those extra calories as fat. The goal here is to bring calories (and strength) back up to a healthy and sustainable level, thus increasing your metabolism. HOW? Actually every person has its own strategy, but one common purpose: making small and calculated increases to calories. 15 year old me -> 25 year old me I remember in the second grade when 'Big Head' became my nickname. The aliases like 'Bobble Head' that came along with it. I remember some kid from Booker T. said I "ran like Jimmy Neutron on crack" during a track meet in 6th grade and how I never ran track after that. Granted, I did have a big ol' dome piece when I was younger but thankfully I grew into it and I can laugh back on those days now, however at the time it REALLY sucked. It was very detrimental to my mental health. I took it a lot harder than I should have and was extremely self conscious about it. I felt like I would get picked on for the rest of my life. Never would I have imagined in a million years I would have grown into the body I have today, never would I have dreamt I would have run a marathon, never would I have dreamt to be strong and confident in the body that I have today and I'm blessed for that. #tenyearsafter #10yearchallenge #tenyearchallenge
