This is an article I saw on Facebook today, and this was my comment on it:
This makes me unbelievably angry and unbelievably sad at the same time. You would think that in this day and age, with all that we know and all the information and education we have, that our first world societies would know better. Yet, here we have a president in the U.S. who has always lived a privleged life, so it's no wonder he's never figured out that lower-class people and immigrants are, in fact, people too, and cannot all be marked as criminals who would do harm to the country.
George Santayana was the first who said that those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it, and I have heard that sentiment many times in my life. But here we are -we know the past, yet this is being allowed to happen. It's mind-boggling! The author of this article said that by no means is this being compared to Nazi Germany, and it's true. At this point, this does not compare to what happened to the Jewish people...AT THIS POINT. But I would like to point out that even Hitler started somewhere.
