Well I set up my scope, got it polar aligned, then BOOM thick cloud coverage that remained for the duration of the night.
I'd say this is the nature of astrophotography, but really it's just the nature of the Midwest.
I'm thinking of just packing the telescope up and not using it again until after the move. The amount of times this has happened since October literally takes the cake for every opportunity except one.
At least Colorado is almost always clear.
Only 47 more days.
In the meantime, here's a cell phone shot from my backyard, showing off Orion and Taurus, as well labeling a few features, including the comet! Which was just barely at naked eye level even in the city, as long as you know where to look.
