As promised, here is my #minireview of all of @twinklerkhanna's books!
It is no wonder why @twinklerkhanna is one of the highest selling #IndianAuthors of India. She is now one of my faves ♥ You only have to read the first of her three published books to realize this. I was a little skeptical to reading her books because I didn't think they were any good (yes! I didn't pay attention to 'Over 1 lakh copies sold' 🙈). After seeing all of #IndiaBookstagram quipping over her third book #PyajamasAreForgiving, I couldn't help myself and I went into binge-mode with the books from @juggernaut.in
The first book (and my most favorite of the three), 'Mrs. Funnybones' is a collection of the best of Twinkle Khanna's columns for a newspaper. This is when you realise that Twinkle Khanna is a born comedian. Quick, witty and sarcastic, she drives life's lessons with vigour 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
The second book, 'The Legend of Mrs. Lakshmi Prasad' is a collection of short stories, of which one of them was adapted for the big screen #Bollywood feature, ' #Padman'. All of the four short stories in the book have a strong undercurrent of #feminism which I loved 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
The third book, 'Pyjamas are Forgiving', the latest feather in her hat, is based in #Kerala where our protagonist, Anshu, is looking for an insomnia cure through #Ayurveda. The book ends with Anshu's final realisation that it is a pair of jeans that hold grudges while pyjamas are forgiving. I did have a bit of an issue with finishing the book, I felt it drag a little. It was a fun read, nevertheless. 🌟 🌟 🌟
@twinklerkhanna's writing style is so good. She fills gaps evenly with humour and sarcasm but its not overdone. But she hasn't the expertise to delve deep into philosophy as we see in her third installment. Kudos to her efforts though and hopefully, she will excel in this, as brilliantly as she has excelled in her witty sarcasm and phenomenal humour. Would definitely pre-order her next book in a heart beat :)
