ORIGINAL CREW RESCUE 3/5 COMPLETE: BATMAN
I had other updates to post, but lost in the shuffle was that an hour after I rescued PAPA the other night, I was able to get BATMAN off the street too. Although I've been able to pet him and handle him, the sight of traps and cages had him run off every time. I had to set a drop trap in front of the house where my recovery space is, put some food in it and leave. I came an hour after rescuing PAPA and who is near the trap but BATMAN. I put some more food in and had him three minutes later.
BATMAN was the 4th cat I ever TNR'd, following LIL SWEETY, PAPA, and MAMA. He has always been a shy but somewhat friendly feral. Often bullied when food was given out, he became the first of the colony to let me pet and handle him. Over time the others followed his lead and allowed me to pet them. Unfortunately, BATMAN was the main cat getting locked into the basements, he was crossing the avenue when he saw me at my recovery space, and he was bullied and even attacked by JAGGER. It's time for BATMAN to go somewhere nicer and safer.
Last night I fed RUSTY like normal, to build his trust back up. I will probably take RUSTY tonight with a simple hand grab. Unfortunately MAMA hasn't been around for the past three nights and she may never get rescued as she is super elusive and unapproachable.
