Day 1: I am the kind of person who, when faced with something emotionally draining, (like losing a loved one for months at a time) has a tendency to turn into an irritable sloth who never gets out of bed. I'm grouchy, I get headaches, and I sleep a lot.
I figure the best way to handle how I'm feeling right now is to get busy and hopefully stay busy.
So today I built a patio!
I have no prior patio-creating experience, but it really was not as hard as I thought it would be (unless you mind your patio not being level). Things I learned about building a patio: -leveling is more important than I thought
-Home Depot is your best friend
-you'd be surprised what kind of materials you can find around your yard or for free from someone else who does not want them
Step 1: dig a hole
Step 2: have your dog fill in said hole for funsies while you're taking a break, re-dig hole
Step 3: lay down landscaping canvas
Step 4: ~1 inch of sand
Step 5: fit Brock Paver Base squares
Step 6: lay bricks
Step 7: use a broom to sweep sand into cracks between bricks, intermittently hosing sand down to compress
