My second image from my recent trip with Simon Roppel through the Swiss Alps. This was taken in the morning after spending two nights up at the Monte Rosa Hutte which is one of most incredible places I’ve ever been. It’s like a futuristic Hotel in the midst of an incredible mountain range that you can only get to by hiking over a glacier. Whew! We got up before dawn to make our rocky descent down to this location that features a beautiful lake. Unfortunately the lake doesn’t face the mountain so you can’t really get a shot of it with the Matterhorn. However, there is this nice little stream that I decided to make use of.
If there’s one thing this that this workshop has reinforced for me, it’s that not every sunrise/sunset has to have wild, amazing colors (though we did get some of those as well). Sometimes the more tame mornings can be just as beautiful as they feature a quieter, more peaceful mood.
