First time that I’ve heard about Quelques Fleurs was in a book of Dita von Teese - Your beauty mark. And offcourse I was curious about her favorite perfume.
Houbigant is one of the oldest luxury perfume houses in the world founded in 1775 by Jean Francois Houbigant in Paris.
Quelques Fleurs was created in 1912 and it was one of the first multi-floral fragrances in the world.
Top - Bergamot, Galbanum, Tarragon, Lemon.
Heart- Jasmine, Tuberose, Lily of the Valley, Violet, Rose, Ylang Ylang, Carnation, Broom Flower, Orange Blossom, Clove.
Base:Oakmoss, Sandalwood, Civet, Cedarwood, Musk, Orris, Tonka Bean.
Quelques Fleurs is - White flower petals covered with the veil of powder and adorned in soft woody notes.
As you see from the list of ingredients it’s very rich and intense fragrance. It’s absolutely floral, and so different from modern perfumes - that I highly reccommend you to try it. Just start from the tester.
At first sight - I didn’t liked the perfume, and it took 3 days to understand and accept the rich floral bouquet with civet and sandalwood. But as it opens its heart- you’ll start to fall inlove.
First of all you feel strong explosion of bergamot and citruces. After 20 minutes I was capable to distinguish tuberose and jasmine that are playing principal role. Then came orange blossom and violet( all the floral notes you’ll find are very juicy, and intence) sometimes the bouquet is luscious, but more you wear Quelques Fleurs - more you like it.
It’s a seductive journey to the gardens of Versailles.
A touch of nobile atmosphere, elegance and good taste.
