New 3 rep max seated box jump. This was fun to test. Once I attempted higher my good friend "overthinking" showed their face. It is much harder to develop power from a relaxed state than a position already under tension such as that of the normal standing box jump! This is a great confidence builder for normal tests of power production

So today is a couples #transformationtuesday . The picture on the left was me and @bella_lesque when we was at biggin hill airshow last year around August time. The picture on the right is us last friday at a freinds wedding. More obvious change is the other half , and i cannot express how proud of her i am . Myself , the difference may not be as obvious 😂 but what has improved so much is my strength and attitude towards training and life. I will say long term change takes time. You got to have a goal and stick to it. Mine is to get a strong as an ox and to start competing in powerlift meets and become an overall beast haha. The other half is to get fitter and healthier. Its being consistent and being determined. Its never to late to start to make a change. Im a working dad and belinda is a workinf mum , we are not professional athletes we are not extremely rich we dont have sponser. But It doesnt matter, some people can change there body in 3months some take 3 years. Its not you on a race with someone else. Its a race against yourself. 23/157 Running at night...WOW! Who knew how pretty it can be. I was almost put off by the wind, running alone, my foot and the time.... but I am so glad I went! I loved it. Back on form, ran 5k without breaks or walking and managed a PB. Now 5k in under 40mins isn't going to put me in any good for age groups but for me, after only 22 runs I am DELIGHTED... It is such an achievement. Feeling confident in the plan again now. All smiles this week! After a turbulent week last week in the food and health department, I have managed to start this week back strong. Food is back on track and I’m writing down what I’m eating, I’m sticking to my training and working hard to push myself throughout! I’ve hit some new PB’s this week which is all down to being pushed by the lovely @bree.motivated @ @f45_training_howick 40kg dumb bell deadlift 12 push up jumps on the bosu 86 bench hops in 60 secs And managed to finally do consistent chin ups for 30secs with only two resistance bands Reading these may not seem like much for some but this has been a week of off scale achievements for me! (And we are only 3days in!) As someone who struggled to move comfortably in my own body in the past, I am loving embracing the moments where I feel strong and fit. I’ve learnt how to breathe through hard workouts and can now keep pushing through the time slots without stopping for breaks when I use to only last 10 secs of work. New dynamic wave started tonight. Banded bench to a foam. Speedy session using mixed grips, firstly my new wider grip, followed by my old grip and then a narrower grip. 40% @ 40KG + bands for 9X3. Tonight was absolutely smashing! When all I cared about was how much I could bench... I peaked at 87.5kg but with very sketchy form... 🔥Third Attempts🔥 Squat: 220kg/485lbs ⚪️⚪️🔴 Bench: 132.5kg/292.1lbs ⚪️⚪️⚪️ Deadlift: 262.5kg/578.7lbs ⚪️🔴⚪️ Total: 1355lbs ------------------------------------------ Here they are, up close and personal clips of all my third attempts from last Saturday. Unfortunately, I didn't end up squatting 500 like I wanted to, but I think it was for the best and led to a more well rounded day where I was able to PR on my other lifts. With that in mind, I really didn't think I'd hit 292 on bench. My second attempt was a bit slower, and I knew that going up in any increment was going to be a fight. Somehow I pushed through and got the lift 😁. As I headed into deads my lower back began tightening up from supporting those bench miracles. Starting from my first attempt I didn't feel as though I was working with my full explosiveness. After my second attempt at 551 I really wasn't sure what I had left, but for some reason decided to add 28lbs to my third. It ended up being all that I had left. Locking out 579 ended up being a pretty spiritual event, but I did it!!! Lost my balance a bit just before the down command so I caught a red light from the front judge. That's never happened before, but I'm definitely going to keep it mind. Im very happy with how the day went, and I can't wait for what comes next. If I can keep up this rate of progress then I have a good chance of qualifying for nationals next meet. From that point I'll have just under a year to prepare myself to meet with the strongest. Working with coach @raneri.john has been a lot of fun the past 3 months. Even though he is a 2016 marathon trials qualifier and one of the nation's best, he felt there was something missing. When he came to me for guidance I was honored. • So we took a look at his training and I gave him my honest feelings on what he was missing, where he was headed, and what I felt I could bring to the table. • 12 weeks isn't a ton of time... and in it he had a race that didnt "go well" at all. In the New Haven Road Race 20k, John had his "worst performance" in 3 years. But the plan of attack was meant to be conservative - it wasn't about a personal best, but rather running even and controlled regardless of what everyone else did. • Telling a trials qualifier not to race is like asking Seabiscuit to trot. But he trusted, he listened, and he walked away feeling pretty fresh where many others still feel beat up weeks later. • This past weekend was the Cow Harbor 10k and with it the exact opposite plan. "I want you to stick your nose it in. Make a move and see what happens. If you blow up.. so be it. It's time to prove to yourself that you belong." • He led the race for a bit and would end up 7th close behind some of the nation's top athletes. Including our very own @mattllano! He found himself beating more than a few as well! He raced hard and fought. He earned himself his first road 10k under 30 minutes (29:58) on a tough course. I wouldn't change a thing. Even if being conservative meant a better time and placement. • One of the first things I saw when Kipchoge finished Berlin was him running directly to his coach and embracing. John isn't as fast but the joy I feel for him... for all of our athletes, is just as strong. • Becoming the BEST version of yourself can't be done alone. Getting there will never be easy and you WILL fail from time to time. Broke my personal best by over 4 seconds last weekend. Made huge steps in late braking where it mattered and committed in turns that gain you time (bishops and 17). Running 100% stock/original suspension except for lowering springs (to flex in the parking lot of course), a big tire, and brake cooling. How do you assess how productive a given workout was? 🏋️‍♀️🏃‍♂️💪 ⬇️⬇️⬇️ We hear sayings like 'I feel sore today so I know I must have done something' or 'that was such a great workout I'm dripping' 💧or 'I did an hour in the gym last night' ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Dripping with sweat after a workout can be a good feeling 😄 especially if you've had a tough day and cleared your head, and many of us like the feeling of being a bit sore the next day, or maybe we like to boast about how long we've spent in the gym🙌 We see these things as a sign of a good workout.
