Green smoothies are a great energizing way to start the morning and incorporate the goodness of greens with the sweetness of fruit.
I was at my local grocery story yesterday to buy a handful of spinach for my green smoothie. Somehow spinach was over hence I got a bunch of #amaranthleaves also called #pigweed instead.
It’s best to alternate between different kinds of greens – spinach, mint, coriander, celery greens, spring onion greens, pak choy, beetroot greens, basil, betel leaves etc.
Here is the recipe for #moringa Amaranth leave smoothie bowl
Ingredients - 1 ripe bananas, 1 apple and 1 guava (frozen)
- a large handful of greens ( #amaranthleaves and organic #moringapowder )
- 1/4 cup organic coconut milk @pureandsure.in - 2 dates pitted
- 1 vanilla pod @urbanplatter.in - 1 tsp each of flaxseed powder, hemp seeds and cinnamon.
Toppings include #chiapudding #pomegranateseeds #cacaogranola #sesameseeds
Place the green leaves in the blender with enough water to blend. Blend till smooth green soup. Add the bananas and other fruits, milk and all other ingredients. Add a couple of cubes of ice if needed. Enjoy!
Variation: Replace banana with other fruits.
