I was in a time crunch for lunch today, so I stopped at Roma's Pizza not knowing what to expect. And to my surprise I was very much pleased. I was warmly greeted as I walk up to the counter to place my order. Fresh pizza being pulled from the oven with presented right in front of me. I gave my order to the gentleman behind the counter who slice the pizza right there in front of me . I literally took three steps to the left and my pizza was there waiting for me at the register. Next thing I know I was done, paid and with my food within less than 5 minutes. You can order a whole pie or by the slice. I ordered one slice of the veggie pizza & one of the tomato & spinach pizza with a drink. You can't beat $6.50 for my whole lunch especially with the size of each slice! Now the pizza itself had so much flavor. Me, myself, I love a lot of sauce on my pizza. Roma's they didn't have tons of sauce on it but it was just enough. And the flavor of it tasted almost homemade. The crust was thin but not crispy. I literally had to fold the pizza like a taco to eat it which I loved. The ingredients looked and tasted fresh. The tomato & spinach pizza tasted so yummy, almost creamy like with the sauce and cheese blending together. The fresh tomato slices was just enough sweetness to balance the pizza. Now with the veggie pizza, which is one of my favorite kind of pizzas, I was very surprised. When I took my 1st bite i was hit with flavor but them got slapped with fire. I guess when they say veggie they're not really going to leave out too much. That includes jalapenos, which I was not expecting lol. That's all I tasted, i had to pick them off because they over powered the pizza way too much. They also had pineapple on the veggie pizza which was different. Typically pineapple is found on Hawaiian pizzas. But I liked it very much. Something about the pineapple with the black olives and green bell peppers, I like the contrast of taste with them together. It was different but in a good way. They also offer salads, pastas and sandwiches, which are HUGE. I most definitely recommend stopping at Roma's Pizza if you're in the area. They're located at 233 Main Street downtown Houston.
