Mozz Melt-off. Tonight I made two sets of identical pizzas. One set topped with @followyourheart mozzarella (top) and the other topped with @miyokos_kitchen Mozz (bottom). Both on @traderjoes Gluten-free vegan Par-baked flatbreads (found in the refrigerated section with the pre-made foods. These are SO good. I overlooked them a bit but they still turned out perfectly crispy but not like a cracker. Great flavor and texture. I definitely recommend these for all my #glutenfreevegan Friends out there!!!!!!
First off, FYH was surprisingly easy to shred right out of the fridge. It comes in a block as opposed to Miyokos ball of Mozz. It definitely had a firmer texture and greasier feel to it. Miyokos is softer and almost crumbles apart.
Melting capabilities were just about the same! Both melt beautifully! FYH was a little greasier but I expected that based on the feel of it while shredding.
Taste: Both were great! I would buy either again for pizza! Scott and I both agree that if we had to choose, we’d pick the Miyokos Mozz! It was a more subtle/natural flavor that is closest to real mozzarella. Which doesn’t surprise me at all. I am a huge fan of their butter (I often use it to finish my gnocchi) and cheese wheels (simply addictive!). #miyokoskitchen making it easier (and tastier) than ever to be Vegan!!! 😋
