Working on that #back. #Movement control is crucial if you are targeting a certain #body part or #muscle group. During this exercise some people are actually working out their 💪 more than the back which can limit the desired results. Leaving the ego at home while hitting the gym and taking a few weight plates less for learning the right technique does two important things. 1st: it’s about how to actually hit a certain muscle that you are doing the exercise for (which is the whole point of choosing an exercise) and 2nd: it creates a much better connection of the muscle with the central nervous system (CNS) 🧠. Muscle fibers are only for good use if our CNS knows how to activate them during the exercise. There are two ways to make your muscle stronger: 1️⃣making it bigger = adding contractile proteine (fibers). 2️⃣improve activation = adding nerval connections to existing muscle fibers. Movement control helps in both scenarios. 💡

SPENT THE DAY BEEN A BEACH BUM whataboutyou? 🍑 After having a sick day yesterday (unfortunately it seems to be the downside of travelling in India and a bit of a given that you will get sick ☹️) I was feeling a bit brighter today, so we jumped on our moped and found a beach that was a little more hidden and quiet! There’s so many beautiful palm trees here and the sand is so soft and fine 🌴 PS I could live in India all year and probably still never be tan 🤷🏼‍♀️💁🏼‍♀️

I could have made a bunch of excuses not to get my workout in this morning. After all, we have hockey, gymnastics and two birthday parties to go to. But I made a COMMITMENT with myself to transform my mind, body and saoul. So at 6 AM, I headed down with the two older kids and press play. It’s only 20 minutes after all. I was expecting a fast paced cardio like we had all week, but today was more stretching and movement and still worked up a really good sweet. I'd been looking forward to my double gym class all week, my face lit up every time I thought about it. But when Thursday  finally came around I felt a bit fragile and emotional, a little shaky. I held out for as long as I could, but instead of pushing beyond my capacity I knew when to resign and took myself out for sushi instead. Bought myself some new undergarments, and necked half a bottle of Pepsi 😂 and I am so fucking proud of how I handled that. I did not turn to wine and I did not reach for tobacco, and I did not spend six hours staring at the stars listening to sad music and crying at my window sill. All of those things would have been perfectly acceptable, but I've grown to love myself in new ways, in healthier ways, that won't leave me feeling even more fucked in the long run. So I love looking back at the end of the week and seeing my sleep patterns. When I feel my top of the game, best, I'm rested! I use a Garmin to track all my phone alerts, movements, workouts and SLEEP!! In order to be the best you your body needs recovery time: Time off your feet 👣 Time out of your head🧠 Time in the dark🖤 Time in a warm or cool environment to relax❤💙💚 Your brian is a muscle💪 and if you dont relax it it will 'cramp up' and make life miserable. I have a routine for wake 🤗 and sleep😴; 💬Hear this.... that took me about 2 weeks to decide I wanted to work on sleep and love my brain & body more! I am up at 5am (sometimes 430am) I eat my prepped breakfast....then workout, pack my lunch, shower and head to a job that is demanding! 🐶🐕🐩On my feet 8 to 10 hrs 🐱🐈 then I come home, check on my hens🐔🐥, check in on my hubby🙇‍♂️, eat dinner and then Personal Development. PD right now is Transform 20 log book and my Bible Study📖 - God of Covenant study of Genesis 12 to 50! 📺TV OFF 30 min before bed time of 9 to 930pm. I take a Melatonin & L-theanine supplement that helps me just turn the brain off at the same time TV goes off - 📲Phone also goes on SILENT & on the charger ( NOT IN MY BEDROOM). I wake and do it all again - some days it is easy and some days it it hard, life happens !! I DONT BEAT MYSELF UP, I LET IT GO AND RESET FOR THE NEXT DAY SLEEP IS IMPORTANT - DO NOT ABUSE IT! I used to be able to sleep hours on end because I didn't fuel my body properly, I did not eat well and gave my body foods it struggled to process, I used sleep as an mechanism to avoid others, to keep myself in a depressed state and that just made my mind and body a unhappy item. I still struggle with proper food for fuel, for pushing my self to stick to a routine, to not abuse sleep when I'm stressed. No one is perfect people......NO ONE!!

So that’s REDJanuary day 19 ticked off. I planned to run to park run and back to make a sandwich, but because I knew coffee was in order post park run, I drove. Easy 3.35 miles pre park run run, then a nice chatty park run with @ian26.2 followed by coffee and avacado on toast @groundcraftcoffee in town. Perfect way to start the day. THREE FAILED ATTEMPTS with 185 lbs -- 😭😂💪🏿. I've emerged MENTALLY STRONGER. Now that I've felt the weight and been given pointers by my gym mates I feel confident that I can master 185 lbs within the next 8 weeks or so. 💯 I failed towards success!
