This gem came up in my memories the other day. Curtain call, opening night, DETROIT '67, @, January '18. This is one of those truly special moments of theatre that I could live in forever. It was such an extraordinary experience that affected me for so many reasons. The play itself written by @ was incredible, my character, Bunny, was the epitome of all the Black women in my family lol it was destiny to play her. The Motown music every night, just yes. My castmates were wells of raw emotion and talent, we had such an anchored crew, performed at a theatre that is home, and were led by a director, @, who is just the dopest. (Super full circle to currently be doing a world premiere of an amazing play he wrote - AMERICAN PROM @ Theatreworks, come check it!) This moment in time will forever give me all the feels. Thank you all.
