I've meandered through Trujillo and Tbilisi, arrived at Fez and Flic-en-Flac, explored Khorog and Xinaliq, landed at Khulna and Kuressaare ... I've been to some pretty far-flung and non-conventional places on our planet, so it might be surprising to hear that I've never been to Rome! Until now, that is!
Rome, one of the best known places in the world, will be the object of my explorations for the next few days. On my first day here, I just meandered the streets, seeing what I'd find along the way. Literally, everywhere you turn there's something ancient or historic like this bridge, the Ponte Sant'Angelo, which leads to the Castel Sant'Angelo and is one of many bridges which cross the Tiber River. There's so much history in this city, more than I'll remember or appreciate, but nevertheless looking forward to coming in contact with it!
