IGNORANCE IS BLISS
I know I'm kinda shit at painting, but I like it!
This was fully inspired by a Simpsons episode with core themes I found really interesting. Choosing between the small comfortable family life or giving it all up to pursue self fulfilment and explore what more the world has to offer. The Simpsons are the perfect canvas to explore this idea on top of since they are one of the most recognisable families in the world. And unlike non fictional people they work well as a symbol of family, rather then a literal particular family that might distract from the theme of the painting. The idea is about the pursuit of happiness and wondering whether it can be found in the surrounding of loved ones, or is that just a distraction from trying to find inner peace for yourself, whether that's a passion you want to give all of yourself to, or doing things you've always wanted to that would be irresponsible to do with a family depending on you. Another idea is that maybe it's better not to be aware of life's big questions and overthink things, and instead be somewhat ignorant to these big questions that won't affect your day to day life if you live it with a loving family.
