✳ Upper back stiffness and pain is so common when your constantly bent over feeding, holding, and carrying your baby or child. 🤰🤱 - ✳ It often leads to weak, stretched out muscles in your upper back and short, tight muscles in your chest and shoulders. - ✳ Try these 3 easy exercises to help alleviate some of that stiffness and tightness you feel at the end of a long day. 🧘‍♀️ - 1. Open books: Try 2 sets of 10 on each side 2. Foam Roll stretch: Lie with the foam roll along your spine (or towel roll!!) And stretch your arms up and back overhead. Try 2 sets of 20. 3. Tricep/lat/back stretch: yes. Postpartum Newborn \\ Toddler Adventure-Land🤰 😜👩‍👧 . Do you know how amazing it feels to put on a swimsuit for the FIRST TIME in THREE YEARS and not hate how you look? 🙌🙌🙌 . The photo on the left, I was struggling HAAARRRD with PPD and completely ego driven to not admit it to myself or ask for help. I also was depressed because after having our daughter, I put on 65 lbs and that extra weight was taking a serious toll myself mentally and physically. . 25 lbs just dropped right off from bf’ing but then I was at a total, complete stand still that felt like freakin’ forever. I remember thinking to myself how the hell am I going to feel GOOD again? . It wasn’t a stupid number on the scale. It was getting back to feeling like ME again. Happy, healthy, and strong. . Not feeling out of breath going up the stairs. Not feeling like all I wanted to do was sleep and cry. Not going to my closet and knowing the only thing that would fit were my maternity clothes. . Believe me. I had some serious doubts about trusting the process. And I found myself comparing my journey to others who’d had babies and seeing their incredible post-baby transformations in just a matter of a few months. There was anger. There was envy. There was total frustration. . But then I would look at our beautiful baby girl and just force myself to step away from that ego driven self-sabotaging talk and I STARTED… I started loving myself again. I started taking care of myself again. I started making time for me again. . And I did for her. . Because I loved her more than anything in the world and knew that I had to show up every day and be my best for HER. That motivated me enough to keep putting one foot in front of the other and focus on my health and being a strong mom regardless of where I was at. . So it came down to a simple CHOICE backed by something that motivated me enough to follow through with that choice. It’s never easy but dammit… to feel GOOD again and be there for your babe makes it completely worth it! . I'm here to help you feel good again too!! Working Mum Life 🤓 Up every hour last night and then from 4.30am, an hour and a half commute to work, trying to concentrate at work, feeling mum guilt for rushing out of the door and not spending the day with Jack, seeing mums at lunch with their little ones, rushing home hoping the trains aren’t delayed, cooking dinner, playing with Jack, bathing Jack and then spending a long time trying to settle him to sleep. The rest of the evening is packing bags, making lunches, choosing outfits and finally sitting down for half an hour before going to bed! Working mum or stay at home mum - it’s not easy is it?!! 🤯 I do wish there was more flexibility to work around having children #workingmum #stayathomemum #flexibleworking

•Transformation Tuesday• Pic on the left is 3weeks before I had her, and then on the right a month after she was born. I've been asked numerous times, what's my secret to bouncing back so quickly? Well, 🤔I've lead a consistently healthy lifestyle for several years. I make it one of my top priorities to stay active in the gym or outside and am deliberate about my food choices and what I put into my body without sacrificing going out to eat, treats here and there. It's all about a great balance. 🤰🏻Pregnancy: * continued weight training until a few days before I had her * Ate intuitively 🍽️ * Got lots of rest 😴 * 🍫I ate treats everyday, but I never "ate for two" (you should only be eating around 300 calories more a day) * I put on about 15lbs more than I was prebaby after having her (baby was 7, amniotic fluid is 4, and the placenta was about 2, the rest was me), but only gained 2-3lbs of fat. 💁🏻Post Partum: * Doing pelvic floor exercises * Incorporated different breathing techniques at home and in between the gym * Have only been to the gym 4x PP, but only make it, if I have the energy. I listen to my body and do not force it. * Little cardio and HIIT * Eating cleaner 🍏🥕🥔🥗🐟 * Slowly hitting weights 🏋🏻‍♀️ * 🍼breastfeeding has contributed to my weightloss immensely * Mentally have embraced my physique. So here it is. . . A transformation I’ve never shared before. Mostly because I hate that ugly t shirt 🤦🏻‍♀️ but more so because it’s taken a long time to get from A to B. . . 3.5yrs between these pictures. Girl on the left had one toddler to chase around and was struggling post miscarriage to get on track and stay positive about having a second baby someday. Yes she went to the gym and she wanted to be in great shape but didn’t actually BELIEVE she could! She was afraid to try hard things and she played it safe! . . The girl you see on the right is a busy mommy with 2 kids. Mostly a stay at home mom (with 2 part time jobs) and has little time to spare or money to waste. Pretty sure you are the same as me if you are reading this!! #momtruth! 🙋🏻‍♀️It finally clicked that I needed more for myself and more from my results! . . When I fell in love with a health and fitness program that worked everything changed. I wanted to try hard things. I wanted to make time for me. I wanted those results badly enough. I did it!! . My first official postpartum workout. And I made it through the entire 30 minutes! . I got a nice sweat going even with my modifications. Super proud of myself. It wasn't perfect and I have a long ways fo go before I'll be doing pull ups again...but it's a good start. . Where are all of my postpartum mamas??
