It's #humpday #nobumpday and there are no new #abortionstories on the site. Instead, I offer you this post by @tokopa
In a world where #abortionstigma silences and sentences us to ruminate on the guilt, fear, and shame we SHOULD feel, it is important for us to break free from these "captors" and speak our truths. Keeping quiet drains us and upholds the dominant narrative: that the pregnancies we choose to terminate are unwanted products of irresponsibility and that we should carry the weight of such indiscretion. This narrative is punitive and unfair. It erases the complexity of our selves and circumstances... In doing so, it robs us of our humanity. It's up to us to humanize abortion, the need for it, and those who choose it. Whatever your circumstances, however you identify, whether a product of love or violence, unintended or nonviable, no one #story is more/less valid than another.
As always, if you have made the decision to terminate a pregnancy or supported a loved on in doing so (friend; family; lover), please consider sharing your story. "So, I had an abortion..." is a confidential, #multimedia , safe platform for your stories. It recognizes that #pregnancy and the prevention through care and/or termination of it are not exclusively cis/het experiences. #ReproductiveJustice is EVERY body's #fight - lend your voice to it, shameLESSly! <3
