When I started @houseinthesand in 2012, I didn’t know it would still be keeping me up at night six years later; too excited to fall asleep, full of ideas and goals.
Trying to create your own job/career is not easy. The process can be the toughest journey, leaving you wondering if you’ll ever get there. The set-backs are hard and they can kick you when you’ve already hit rock bottom.
But the highs are amazing, boy, they’re electrifying.
I am somewhere between the highs and lows right now and things are looking up. The best thing about all of this are the friendships.
Within the past six and a half years I’ve met some of the kindest people. People who will let me sleep at their places when I’m travelling, people who will show me around foreign places, people who will donate their talents to help me out, people who will listen to me when I’m having a meltdown, people who will put my logo in a shirt and wear it, and people who will guide me when I’m lost as hell - metaphorically and geographically.
I know I’m so cheesy it’s disgusting, but I just don’t ever want to take these things for granted. HITS buddies are irreplaceable. 💗
