This is my writing spot. A friend + I have been meeting a few times a week at a local bookshop to write together. I’ve had a book idea swirling inside me for months (perhaps years actually) and it’s been wonderful to finally dedicate time to it. I don’t know what shape it will take, what the book idea will become, or if anyone will ever care to read what’s been flooding out of me during 10-minute free-write exercises (or if I will let them read it🤭) but the practice of it is extremely enjoyable, so, I will continue writing. It’s SO important to do things daily which bring you joy... and not just the OUTCOME of joy, but a PROCESS of joy. I’d love to know: what’s something in your life you enjoy the PRACTICE of, as much as (or more than) the RESULTS of? ✨ PS- I always feel guided when I write. This happens to me when I paint, too. Like someone else is doing the writing/drawing/painting, and all I need to do is unlock my brain for it, and it tumbles out easily. This is partly why I am in love with the process!!😍

. So simple, but so true. • I’ve changed. In a good way. My vibe has changed. I no longer spend time reading “People” or “US Weekly”. I no longer start my morning with news. I have walked away from relationships that don’t serve me. I have gravitated towards ones that do. All of these changes have allowed me to look inward and forward. How someone else lives their life is no longer important to me. I no longer invest in any sort of negativity. I’m focused on myself and what I HAVE in front of ME. • See I have goals, dreams and aspirations. Bigger than you could imagine. I dream of traveling more often, spending more time with my husband and kids. Driving my kids to school and picking them up. In fact, I have goals of retiring my husband so he can fuck around with cars all day. I have dreams of buying a house on the water and in Eastern WA. I want to have time to volunteer with senior citizens and donate to a cure to end breast cancer. I want to afford my daughter to see endless numbers of LIVE Broadway Shows! I want to afford to be able to take my kids to sporting events any time they want! I want to afford to support them in anything they want to try! • Too big? I don’t think so. And I don’t really want to hang with anyone who doesn’t agree. • Have you ever allowed yourself to dream big? I love dreaming big. How's your health? I always thought I was healthy. In the grand scheme of health issues, mine are not detrimental to my way of life at all. I think that's why it took so long for me to really be honest with myself. It wasn't until I was honest with myself that my health was not as good as I wanted it to be. My health wasn't bad, it simply wasn't exceptional. Today, start to build your awareness of your health. Are you at a 5 or a 6? What do you need to do to be a 9 or a 10? Are you already at a 9 or a 10? What habits do you need to continue to maintain that fantastic health?

3 years ago, this was me. That little girl was about to become a big sister! And I was just becoming bigGER. ⬅️SWIPE to see today . The scale wasn’t the main issue. Don’t get me wrong, it was what jolted me into the conversations about how I was living. . The little girl I’m holding and her mom and sister PUSHED me to want to take care of myself! . I realized that they were watching me. I realized my lifestyle wasn’t teaching my kids to care for their own bodies! . So, I took steps forward! I CHANGED things...but it wasn’t over night. It wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t sticking to an strenuous diet. It wasn’t even hours in the GYM! . 🔸It was SMALL changes. 🔸It was working out for LESS than an hour! 🔸It was done with workouts that I could do AT HOME or ANYWHERE! 🔸It was done by making smartER choices in the kitchen. . I’m not done yet! Here’s to more steps forward! And here’s to sharing #mystory with others!

How can HIT Training of 20 minutes be effective??? . A majority of your training needs to come from improving YOUR general strength and fitness. Once you have a base level, you can start to vary the INTENSITY of your sessions to include a HIT session at least once a week and maybe up to twice or three times a week. . In yesterday’s 20 minute session, I achieved 5 rounds of work. The total volume of the workout is: 105 Deadlifts 75 Kettlebell Swings 45 Burpee Push Ups. The total weight moved for the session: 9,825kg’s in 20 minutes. . If you were given the opportunity to take as long as you’d like to complete 105 Deadlifts, 75 Swings and 45 Burpees- how LONG do you think that will take YOU??? . This is HOW HIT training is effective. . Have a look at the second photo where I’ve broken down the reps and weights. Remember, this is specific to me... you might lift heavier or lighter and you might weigh less or more. Which will change the numbers around. . Run it out. . . Sunday scaries into Monday Crazies, you gotta have something to keep you on track. Physically, mentally, in every way. If you hate running, that's fine, do what makes you feel good. . . My relationship with running is a funny one. Everyone who "loves" running has a love/hate relationship with it, I'm sure. But it's always been a bit different for me. It's the product of being taught to believe at a young age that if you aren't fast, you "can't" run or shouldn't really even try. . . It's just funny to me, because at the end of the day, if you run a 7 minute mile and I'm holding strong at an 11 minute mile, we end up in the same place in the end. What may be easy for one person is SUCH a struggle for another, even on the same dirt trail. . . So, yeah, running is exactly like life. It amazes me to realize how different everyone's experiences can be when we're all on the same journey together. And, remembering that, it becomes so much easier and exciting to honor my body, my own struggle, and my mind by just getting out there and pushing forward. Because even though a mile is a mile, the things I can work out in that time are endless. . . It becomes far less about how long it takes to complete a certain distance, and all about the things I let go of along the way, as well as all the things I learn. And the more I get outside and just go for a run, the more I gain as well. Strength, endurance, patience with myself, understanding of exactly what feels good and what doesn't (physically and otherwise). It's the jumbled mess that one may refer to as "cardio brain" along with the feeling of ease and clarity when the miles are finished. . . Embrace the journey. Lose your sense of time and expectation and just let the process do its thing. Run it out. . . Love and light, friends. 💙✌

Progress over Perfection . Raise your hand if you're a Perfectionist at heart 🙋 . Raise your hand if the idea of making something perfect or doing something perfect has stopped you from doing something 🙋 Has perfectionism stolen the joy from an event you've planned because it didn't 'turn out right'? Has it stopped you celebrating a success because although there was improvement or change, it wasn't as much as you had wanted? 🤔 . I can say yes to all of these, and freely admit that I have allowed perfectionism to steal a whole lot of joy from my life. And that's just dumb! What justification is there for not embracing the joy of success and progress just because it doesn't fit with the 'perfect picture' that was created by an imperfect mind? . Blood, sweat and respect.. first 2 you give, last one you earn @therock SHOULDER INSANITY (fly machine) **Forgive the expressions cause that was my 6th set and my shoulders were burning** CHALLENGE: 10 set 1. Start from the highest weight you can.... 2. Drop down weight 2 plates at a time with ver limited rest.... 3. Get to the lowest weight possible and complete it with a set to failure. Whats insane about this? Repeat this process 9 more times. Afterwards, you will thank me.
