So here goes my little review of the @protechknives Runt.
Firstly fit and finish on this thing is brilliant for the around $100 price tag. Everything in place, no issues, grinds even. All good out of box.
Its a "California legal" auto. Which means it's under 2 inches of blade, 1.9 to be exact. 154CM steel and the blade is DLC coated on mine, but you can get a satin finished blade if you like.
The handle is anodized aluminum, in my case, my favourite...blue 😁. The handle also houses the push button mechanism for blade release, which is just behind the pivot. To close the knife, the button had to be depressed before you can fold the blade in.
The clip matches the finish on the blade and is one side, tip down, which I think is a point lost. It could easily have been both sides. But the clip definitely does it's job very well, no complaints there.
I have about medium sized hands and my most comfortable grip is 3 fingers though if I really choke up, I can get the full 4. The clip is pretty flat and unobtrusive so no real hot spots while gripping tight. However there is also no jimping at all on the knife so it loses marks there.
As for performance, it flies open like a rocket and maybe it's the shape of the handle or the size, but the recoil from opening isn't bad at all.
As for the blade itself, it was beyond razor sharp out of box. Used it most everyday since I've had it and it's still razor sharp and shaves hair.
I give this a 8/10. Definitely recommend if you're in the market for a small but high quality, dependable auto.
