FRIDAY JUNE 22nd.
Clemente Soto Velez Center.
107 Suffolk Street.
64+ // 900+ // 4,645+ // 8,000+ // 12,000+ // 24,000?
It’s also the 9th Month for many people without power or resources! .
This number continues to increase as more studies and investigations occur regarding the death toll in Puerto Rico caused by hurricane Maria and the aftermath neglect by the U.S. and Puerto Rico government agencies.
I, artist Adrián Viajero Román humbly request YOUR participation in the candlelight vigil and memorial I‘m organizing. Please join me in the historically Puerto Rican neighborhood of the Lower East Side in acknowledging, honoring, and remembering our loved ones that have lost their lives.
Let's come together as a community and share together, mourn together, and remember together everything our people have been through.... not only due to Maria, but under colonialism.
There will be a memorial for anyone who would like to add items like flowers, photos, additional candles, notes... etc. I will have the remainder of the 5,000 candles from the previous vigil held on June 10th ready to be lit. .
I look forward to sharing this moment with you.
