Caffeine is one of the reliable performance supplements available. •A concern some people have is that they can build up a tolerance to the possitive performance effects if they consume a lot of caffeine throughout the day. •Caffeine has 2 main benefits that can help you have better training sessions. Trying to keep it light for chest and back day. "Trying" is the keyword here. I don't think I can properly express how frustrated it makes me to be limited. I know most workout for health or aesthetic reasons. I won't deny, those are two of the top reasons that I do it too but the main reason is for strength training. I want to be one strong b*tch. This labrum tear is keeping me from lifting heavy sh*t. I miss doing a proper squat. I miss heavy shoulder pressing. I can't believe I'm saying this but I miss proper bench pressing. I also miss Jiu Jitsu. I want to roll so badly but I would risk further injury. In weight training, I control the movement and how far my limbs go. With bjj, not so much and I can't risk not being able to workout all together. On the "glass is half full" side, the hubby did mention the other day that this high volume sh*t is making my rear delts and traps look more developed. Took the last few days off to focus on exams but I'm back on the grind and it feels SO good 🙌 • • • Today's leg workout was 💣 I did an EMOM set today on hip thrusts and it just about killed me. I wish I got a video of it! At one point my homie came up to me and asked if I was okay 😂 yes, just workin and dyin! • • • EMOM= every minute on the minute. I did 10 reps every minute for a total of 10 minutes. Set the timer and do 10 reps, rest for the remainder of your minute, then start another set of 10 once the minute is up. Repeat until you finish your 10 minutes. You can do however many reps/mins, I just chose 10. SWIPE to see a crazy transformation‼️ How did I do it? I put in years of hard work! A booty doesn’t build itself. I dedicated hours in the gym, hours to prepping my food, time to create my workouts, focus/energy to go through and read freakin published research articles on exercise physiology... If you want it, you work for it. If you don’t, then you don’t. There is nothing else to it. People who want things don’t sit there and make excuses about why they CANT get what they want. Successful people just go out there and do what they have to do to get it! I’m not saying success is linear— it’s not. Everyone has their ups and downs. I do! We all do. And that’s ok. But what matters (and what i keep saying) is that consistency is what’s important. And trusting yourself. And making small decisions every day to invest in a LIFESTYLE change instead of making the gym/eating healthy a chore. On another note. Tonight I did my first #crossfit class in over two years! Better yet, I did it beside my sister Jenna @zenjen2 !! As a matter of fact, she whooped my ass, finishing an entire minute before me. At least I was then able to hand her my phone to capture the last part of the workout (WOD). It was 10-8-6-4-2 of shoulder to overhead at 105 lbs. and toes to bar (one of my faves). I finished in 4:36. Those barbell push jerks were tiring! And my wrists will be achy! Although they felt fine during the workout thanks to my Sling Shot Gangsta wraps! And my knees kept safe and stable because of my Strong Sleeves! Thanks @mbslingshot ! 😱I DON’T EVEN LIFT ANYMORE…and I kinda lost my identity. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👉🏼EMBRACING THE STRUGGLE… Part 2! 😤 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Weight training became my obsession for the last 5 years almost. The only place you could find me was the gym! 🤪🏋🏻‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🍑 BUTTT… I GREW SO MUCH MUSCLE! In fact a little too much for my stage goals ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👉🏼Sooo…I hardly even weight train anymore…🤔in fact in the last 2-3 months I have only weight trained a total of 2-3 times a week MAX and have taken off a few weeks at a time all together. 🤭🤭🤭 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So imagine: a whole business, life, and your goals focused on weight training…and how that is NOT what I need to do to reach my goals now…mind blowing lol.😦🤯 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🧐You see, muscle is actually really hard to lose. Especially with how much muscle density I have (under all this fat, don’t be fooled LOL #quadzilla) 😏 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ By eating protein and continuing to train upper body, I am able to preserve the muscle that I do have with hopes to lose a little leg muscle. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I started to get a little depressed to be honest! Weight training was all I knew with fitness…😐 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👉🏼BUT, I sucked it up and found something new to do! Boxing/Kickboxing! 🥊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While I will still have days where I weight train, & focus on building my rear delts and shoulders a little, most of my workouts are now being focused on total body cardio! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is to keep my body lean and active, develop a strong core, and power, and remain competitive in another way until it is time for me to prep for a show again! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am not one to wallow, I am one to find a solution and outlet and continue to explore the ways of fitness!! 🔥🔥🔥 —————————————————————- 👉🏼Whole outfit @tilyoucollapse code “Alyssa” 💞
