It normally takes me 5 min to make an 8 pieces sushi roll, if you have all the ingredients on hand . And the best thing is that my homemade sushi contains NO sugar, salt, mayo, processed ingredients (like crab sticks), anything fried, and … bacteria. Sushi has a healthy reputation, but it can carry even a dangerous parasite. .
I have several favorite recipes but my Vegan Sushi is suitable for all diets. Try it and from now on the only sushi you touch should be homemade😋. .
📍1 cup sushi rice 🍚
📍1/4 cup rice vinegar.
📍4 sheets nori seaweed.
📍1/2 cup sesame seeds.
📍2 med. cucumber (about 5” long)🥒.
📍1/2 cup red cabbage, shredded 📍1 carrot 🥕.
📍1/2 avocado🥑, peeled and sliced.
📍wasabi and light soy sauce.
Optional: 4 Tbsp of any vegan cream cheese. 👨🍳INSTRUCTIONS👩🍳.
Cook rice according to package directions.
Set rice aside until cool.
Cut each cucumber in half, length-wise. Cut each half into ½” wedges. If you use a large cucumber, cut it in half cross-wise first, to create two pieces. Cut carrot and avocado same way.
Assemble sushi: On sushi mat, arrange 1 nori sheet. Spread 1/4-inch-thick layer of rice over sheet, leaving a 2-inch border at edge farthest from you. : Horizontally arrange 1 spear asparagus, cucumber, carrot, cabbage and avocado. Grab edge of mat closest to you and roll towards top; moisten top border with water and press to seal. Let rest in the fridge for 2 min. before removing mat. With a sharp knife, slice roll into rounds. Repeat with remaining nori and fillings. Serve with ginger, wasabi and light soy sauce. Bon Appétit😋👌
