Rating: 5/5 🌟
Huge thanks to Heather for sending me the second book of Wingbound for a review! Again, it's such an honor.
I literally can't remember anything about this book that I disliked to the point it would made me wanna talk about it. The only thing is maybe some of the characters decisions and behavior, but that is so irrelevant for the whole book and isn't in any way affecting how I feel about it.. so I guess I'll be talking only about the good things.
First of all, I enjoyed this book way more than the first one, I found the plot of this one way more interesting, it had more action and there was also a mistery of who is the Ellery royal.
I was also, extremely happy when I saw we're going to have Tolliver's POV in the book. I liked Tolliver alot so I was excited to see more of him. I kinda ended up enjoying his chapters more than Ledger's. Mostly because it meant there's no Hollis, whom I don't like from the first book, and that dislike sadly continued in this book too. One more character I'd like to mention that for some reason left a huge impact on me is Bellamy, he was so funny and cute and I really like him.
There were some really good plot twists in the book too. For example I really thought Tolliver is going to be the royal, but it turned out to be the grandma! Which to me was so cool and unexpected. Then there was Dayson.. I was really surprised when it turned out he was the assassin. I was so not expecting that. Also, I think the fact that Kava is pregnant was supposed to be a plot twist. But I knew it from the moment she puked, so it wasn't a surprise. And now my favorite plot twist of all, a rather funny one, I loved it so much, it made me laugh out loud on subway.. the fact that Hollis proposed to Ledger because if she waited for him to propose she'd probably wait forever. It was also the only part where I liked Hollis.
Heather's writing and story are so unique and beatiful. So, if you haven't read it, I absolutely recommend reading Wingbound and Wingless.
