This weekend I was supposed to be in Oregon, camping in an old growth forest with @for.the.wild. I’m so sad not to be there, but I really needed to stay home & ground.
The Million Redwoods campaign was so inspiring to me, I adore the work that Ayana Young & her team are doing with redwoods & reforestation. •
I have a deep bond with Redwoods. I’m not sure why, or where it came from, but I love them so dearly. After watching For The Wild’s short film on this subject at @spiritweavers this year, I went to sit under a fir tree to pray & cry; I asked how I can better tend to the Earth. The answer came: move out of the city.
It came immediately, and I understood. I can only tend to the Earth if I am connected to the land under my feet, if I let go of some city comforts and exchange them for communion. So I did.
On my way home from Spiritweavers I stopped to see & pray & be with the giant Sequoias. I can’t explain this deep love, but I am so grateful for it, so appreciative of what it does for me as a wildling of this Earth. I love you Redwoods!!! I love you Earth!! Thank you for continuing to teach me, & to remind me we belong to each other ❤️❤️ #redwoodforest #treesaremyfamily #reciprocity
