Happy Earth day, folks! Just want to share some knowledge on the General Sherman Tree in Sequoia National Park me and my friends got to see last month: • 275 Feet tall.
• Weighs 1,385 tons.
• Looking up at the tree for a 6-foot tall human is the equivalent of a MOUSE looking up at the 6-foot-tall human.
• Is 2,200 years old.
• It’s volume is 52,500 cubic feet.... if it’s trunk were to be filled with water, it would provide enough water for 9,844 baths. That equals to one bath everyday for 27 years.
• Circumference is 103 feet.
I definitely appreciate trees more and am even more fascinated by them. 🌎🌍🌱🌲🌧❄️☃️⛄️🏞🌄⛰🏔 #elbowsmountains #happyeARTday #rei #rei1440project #optoutside #nakedplanet #sequoianationalpark #sequoia #generalshermantree
