Have you ever been attacked by a wild snake? Gosh, this one was visibly furious. First, it raised its upper body and then it went hurtling towards us, unbelievably fast. Too fast for me to set a better focus point… To be honest, it was quite stupid to take the picture anyway. The ranger beside me was already running away. When he realised that I wasn’t, he shouted that I should take to my heels. So, I ran as fast as I could. The scary thing was that the snake immediately changed directions and came after us. After a few metres, Daniel, the ranger, told me to stand still and explained that snakes can’t see very well, that they rather follow vibrations. Eventually, the snake lost our tracks and slithered in the bushes nearby. Whilst I couldn’t spot it anymore, Daniel said that it was still watching us. With a cold shiver running down my back, we slowly walked away. Meanwhile I can tell this story with a grin because no one got hurt, luckily, but that could definitely have gone wrong quickly.
