Why would you ever wash your hair with vinegar?
Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp. Your scalps pH level is 5 (slightly acidic), but the products we use can change the ph level, causing irritation.
- ACV balances hair and scalp pH by mixing it with a 2:1 ACV water ratio (swipe). It flattens and closes the hair cuticle, making your hair smoother, shinier, less frizzy, less prone to breakage and more moisturised.
- ACV helps prevent fungal and bacteria growth. It’s also good for dandruff and itchy scalps.
- It can clarify and cleanse your scalp removing product build up.
- Contains nutrients (vitamins B, C, and potassium), which are beneficial for your hair.
When do I use it?
I try to do an after a Co-wash, especially when I can feel a little build up.
How do I use it?
I pour that mixture into the orange cup (seen in video pouring water) and start by dipping my hair post co-wash hair into the mixture and squishing out the excess water back in the cup. I then section my hair in half and pour some onto my scalp and massage 💆🏽♀️ I flip my hair forward, pour some more, tilt my head back and repeat all while massaging my scalp. Leave on for 3-4 minutes only and rinse off. Follow up with conditioner!
Alternatively, you can use a spray bottle that’s less messy.
