This is a part of the normal route I drive every day. I've been having pops through the carburetor, hard off idle stumbles, and rough cruising at part throttle.
I figured I was running lean, but didn't know when and where. I also am not around anyone who would be able to show me how to tune carbs, so that's why I got the LM-2 reader.
It showed at part throttle both sides were running super lean at 16-18 AFR 😱 My idle and WOT was running around 12-13 AFR, which I didn't touch since it liked it there. I was able to richen the part throttle mixture to around 13-14 AFR and she woke up 😎 No more off idle stumbles, no more popping while cruising, and no more hesitation. And that's with playing with it for 2 hours 😋
I have some more tuning to do as well as have new bungs installed since mine are not at equal locations which is why one bank is leaner than the other. Probably need to change a few jets and needles since my part throttle adjustment is almost all the way out.
