Bella is doing better and we are on the road to recovery.
She's eating, drinking and going potty. She's also getting up on her own and able to walk. She's just slow in her mobility (who wouldn't be).
The kitties are very attentive to her and loving on her.
We are beyond blessed that it wasn't worse. The Javelina had both Bella and I surrounded then they managed to split us apart and 5 went after Bella and 5 tried to come after me. After lots of shouting, screaming, kicking (yes I kicked a Javelina), and throwing large rocks at their heads. Bella and I came back together and I was able to guard her until they went away.
This all happened on our property, on the side of the house.
We have already taken precautions to make sure the Javelina don't feel comfortable here anymore.
And I will continue to make sure they no longer think they are welcome on our property as well as making sure both Bella and I are protected.
This was a terrifying experience but I am glad to say we are home and safe.
Thank you to all those that called, texted and messaged me. It meant a lot to us.
A special thank you to our wonderful vet! I called 5 minutes before they closed and the vet stayed so he could help Bella. Him and his staff were beyond amazing. They got Bella into emergency surgery right away and got her all stitched up and cleaned up. They made sure we were taken care of and continued to update us as the surgery was happening. They also continuously loved and praised Bella and how she's such a good girl.
All while in Bella's nature, her tail continued to wag and she continued to give out kisses to us and the staff. 💜
Please continue to send your prayers and positive thoughts to Bella for a speedy and healthy recovery. 🙏🏽
Thank you 💜🐾
