#blogalert ... out of sight, out of mind?! We’ve had a few weeks to ignore the cancer that is ‘America’s poor gun control + the School System. I hate to be the bearer of reality; but the problem didn’t go away, it’s just suppressed itself for what we call SUMMER BREAK ☀️ Haven’t been proactive? Don’t know what you can do? Don’t worry, as school approaches there are things you can do to get involved in your child’s and community’s safety:
1. Find out what your child’s school safety plan is. They have one! You should be aware of it.
2. It’s all of our responsibility to be emotional intelligent (empathetic). Those who are empathetic are hyper vigilant and discerning to those hurting. Teaching your children empathy and the value of others can help create a connected and accountable learning environment.
3. Get involved in the PTA, Awareness campaigns, organizations that are actively fighting for YOUR children everyday.
4. While your time maybe limited, be a walking advertisement for change. Purchase awareness wrist bands, T-shirt’s (like the one in the picture, hint hint) hahah to be active.
It’s all of our problem! Let’s Fix It 🌎❤️ Guns Don’t Belong in Schools shirt pictured by @madoutreach
