When you finally decide which African spiritual practice is yours, it's going to change everything. The word tribe here isnt so much about location or lineage, as its about the group that you settle into.
You'll find that one may suit you over the other for varying reasons . Some require initiation, while others require animal sacrifice. Either way the choice must be made. Some are more aggressive while others require less time consumption and less service.
One thing that is very clear, is that most if not all African spiritual practices require a relationship with spirit and nature. Nature is key, as its tangible and helps you use it for goodness, while spirit is required. Spirit presence, acknowledgement and celebration is absolutely a must.
There is a disclosure. The disclosure is when you fully take on a spirit based "Religion", you take on an extra set of family members. This is what I refer to as my tribe. It's their job to make the best decisions to help you walk this life. Many times they show us the answer and we go the other way. This will lead to you repeating that step again.
When we see red flags in situations, we are being shown the outcome. Our human mind keeps us from listening to our tribe more times than not. So I say this to tell you that, from here on out, your life will not be what you want but what is decided, amoung your tribe for you.
So do your research, do your process of elimination. Either way be prepared for a source bigger than yourself. One that my seem annoying when you just want to pick the easiest choice. This menace will become the blessing, that we call spirits.
