Thanks to a @Buzzfeed article a couple of years ago, I purchased this five year Q&A journal. One random question per day with five years of entry space. I manage to scribble down something almost every day and looking back on my previous entries has been illuminating, to say the least. 💡 I made this entry in my journal last year. At the time, I was thinking of my divorce. I was finally establishing a new normal and realizing how much I had healed despite the sudden, heart wrenching end of my marriage. 💔 Now, as I work toward walking again, rebuilding my strength and breathing through the agony of regrowing bone, I have many people asking how I stay so (mostly) positive. 🙌🏻 I truly believe that we can either make ourselves miserable or we can make ourselves stronger, the amount of work is the same. 💪🏻 This is more true now than ever, nothing defeats me. #PAO #persevereandovercome #threeweekspostop



I haven’t stepped foot into a gym since March😏 . Why? Because gyms are expensive. They’re usually crowded and the thought of touching a machine that someone else’s armpit was JUST TOUCHING freaks me out #ew Taking more time out of my day in my car driving to the gym, was breaking me down. I slowly stopped going, kept my membership for 2 months, never went and then finally decided to just quit altogether . I saw this woman on these little squares one day. She looked so happy, so free-spirited, I was envious of her life, so I followed her immediately and stalked the sh%* out of her😂 . Cut to about 3 months later-now she’s my coach and mentor🌼 on top of building the body I desire, I’m happy. So, so freaking happy, and it all started with one little message🧡 . Yesterday I practiced self-care and self-love by... instead of going back to bed when I woke up at 8:30, I got out of bed and before showering and getting ready for the day, I kept going outside to take photos of the sunrise. I got many beautiful photos and had fun. I enjoyed myself and was grateful to have woken up at that time to take all those photos. Usually I simply take the photos from my window because I am in my pyjamas, but I put my hoodie over top and put my shoes on my bare feet. I was kind of chilly but if was totally worth it. Today I practiced self-care and self-love by going back to bed and getting more sleep. I woke up before 8:30 and saw from my bed that the sun was beginning to rise. The photographer in me wanted to get up and get dressed and be ready to take plenty of sunrise photos again. But instead I decided to sleep. I was very tired and feeling a bit icky emotionally. Sleeping another hour and a half was needed. I really didn't want to get out of bed. I wanted to sleep. So I did. I missed out on taking sunrise photos, but I took care of myself by getting sleep. Therefore, no regrets. Self-care and self-love is different for everyone. We all have our own personal ways of caring for and loving ourselves. It even looks different for each individual person every day. It feels really wonderful to be practicing self-care and self-love every single day. I never used to do this. At least, rarely ever. I am happy to be taking care of and really loving myself. Change is hard. Want to know what’s harder though? Staying the same. - I talk to SO many people everyday about wanting to change. Clearly you are craving something different or you wouldn’t reach out to me, or even follow me actually lol. That initial change to start living better and taking care of your is HARD and truly kind of sucks sometimes! #honesthere - But you CANNOT beat FEELING good and healthy. You cannot put a price on that you guys! That’s going to last a lot longer than those cute pair of shoes you want to buy yourself for Christmas 🤷🏻‍♀️ - What’s your health worth to you? It’s worth a heck of a lot to me 🥰 - I can give you a million reasons why you should make changes and why it’s been amazing for me....BUT you have to ask yourself what’s harder? Staying the same or doing something to change? And YOU have to make that choice. Not me, not your husband or family, YOU do! 🤷🏻‍♀️



Are you settling?⁣😳 ⁣ When we take the time to check in with our tummy, we know it when we feel it.⁣ ⁣ The voice, the nudge, the red flags.. they’re everywhere if we give our soul a chance to speak— which, by the way, can feel scary. It’s easier to ignore it and place the blame elsewhere.⁣ ⁣ I so feel you.⁣ ⁣ 😒But you still justify and rationalize your “okay” relationship, it’s convenient.⁣ 😒A career that drains you, but the benefits are good.⁣ 😒A city that when you leave your front door- you’re irritated, annoyed and angry and don’t understand why, but its close to that job that you hate and cheap to live there. Meh.⁣ 😒A state of health thats average at best, you’re going paleo again for the 3rd time this year, it’ll be fine.⁣ 😒A shitty financial situation that you keep telling yourself you’ll fix once you get a new job.⁣ ⁣ These, are quite literally, the “rational lies” you are telling yourself keeping you stuck, irritated, tired and inching closer and closer to a constant state of victimhood.⁣ These rational lies produce and emotional reaction that is often times negative, seeping into every corner of your life. ⁣ ⁣ ✨You know what your soul desires. ⁣✨ Stop asking everyone around you for feedback, approval, praise, “yeah! great idea! go for it!”⁣ ⁣ When you give yourself time to go inward— you will realize exactly what you want and don’t want in this life. ⁣ ⁣ What’s the vision?⁣ What’s the dream?⁣ What’s the desire?⁣ What’s the change your heart, soul, and body aching for?⁣ What are you SICK and TIRED of?⁣ ⁣ We get what we settle for, what we are too afraid to ask for. Don’t be afraid to acknowledge this.⁣ ⁣ So, are you ready? Changing your freaking life, is no joke. And not everyone is ready + willing to look at their stuff and take radical responsibility, the pain isn’t great enough yet— and that’s okay. Happy Friday! 🎉⁣ ⁣ Recently, I’ve implemented a morning and bedtime routine into my life. I try to do this Sunday night through Friday morning, with some exceptions (aka cactus club happy hour 😏).⁣ ⁣ I have found that my morning routine preps me for the day ahead of me. I do morning pages, meditate, and then go to the gym. 🏃🏼‍♀️ ⁣ ⁣ For my bedtime routine, I turn off my phone at 9pm, diffuse lavender oil, write a gratitude and daily wins list, and then finish off with reading a book. It helps me wind down and gets my body and mind ready for the best sleep possible! 😴 ⁣ ⁣ I think that having a routine in place can be beneficial for your mental health and learning a new habit will make you feel accomplished. 💪🏻⁣ ⁣ Obviously, everyone has different needs and schedules, so routines will vary from person to person. Yesterday was fun! However, I’m not eating how I normally eat, and yesterday the portions were bigger than usual... soooo my tummy was NOT happy with me 🤦🏻‍♀️ . . It’s not food poisoning thankfully 😂😂 but man it was a rock in my stomach. . . Felt a little better after a good nights sleep, got up and modified a 25 minute workout in the room and now we’re heading out for some breakfast! . .
