Everything about this hunt was hard. On the 4th day I missed a small 6 from miss ranging the tree and reading the branch part way between the bull and me. Multiple calls ins a day but non of the elk would do it right. Branches in the way, head on shots but wouldn't stand still long enough, wind would swirl, sneak in back door and everything in between that can go wrong with archery hunting. On the last morning of the hunt we got into a canyon with 12 bulls chasing one cow but the wind was swirling all day. With some LUCK the wind stayed in our face long enough for a bull to back door us. Dad ran down the trail and kept calling. I knocked an arrow and immediately pulled back. 11 yards broadside and I let her fly. We waited 30 min and tried to find blood with no luck. Followed his trail for 60 yards and I looked over at dad who pointed at his nose. I knew then it was all over.
