Hey guys, what does being fit mean to you?
Nerdy me 👩💻 found this hot new study from cardiology section in JAMA Network Open journal. 👉 Basically, it says that people who lead sedentary lives have way higher mortality rates compared to those with diabetes, high blood pressure, and smokers together!
The research studied 122,007 patients from 1991 to 2014 and assessed their cardiorespiratory fitness.
➡️ Doctors wrote, "Cardiorespiratory fitness is a modifiable indicator of long-term mortality, and health care professionals should encourage patients to achieve and maintain high levels of fitness."
Guys, if you want to be healthier you got to move around more every day. Our bodies are designed to move, not sit in one position all day long.
⛹️♀️ If you can't go to the gym, then walk, run, jog, go to the park, clean your yard or house, go biking 🚴♂️, walk the stairs, do jumping jacks or jump rope, catch pokemons while walking, etc.
This research points out that there is no ceiling/cap on the amount and type of physical activity. This means the more active you are the healthier your body will be. Any type of exercise is good for you, just find what works with your schedule.
