Some days it's easy to make good decisions. Others, it's totally not. Easy enough to say that, but it's another battle to fight for what you want.
And NO - I'm not talking about a bloody mary with your breakfast! Although some days that seems required 😋
I'm talking about when life get's crazy and we resort to what's convenient; when we enter a busy season, summer passes by way too fast, school starts, winter brings the holidays, and then what...New Year's already?
When I think back to when I started to take my health and body seriously, I'm reminded how overwhelming that was - especially amidst a crazy season in my life. I was a hot mess (some days still am 💃. I was so disorganized, looking in a million different directions for help, for a solution, for an answer, living day to day with no plan, no structure. And where I am now is because I took small steps, made small every day choices, that over time meant huge growth!
Some days that meant I left my dishes in the sink overnight. Or left my clean laundry on the floor for another week. Other times it meant that I laid on the floor catching my breath for 30 minutes instead of answering that phone call. And on crazy mornings I'm running out the door with my shake and half of my fridge in tow because I wasn't prepared.
Just know that when it seems hard enough to plan your meals, to be successful with lunch on the go, to make sure that your kids have healthy options as the school year approaches, to plan out family dinners, you're not alone. And it can be done. Know that when you feel like a hot mess or like giving into the daily drive-thru, you're not alone. But there is a better way. Know that it's not all or nothing, but that you can make healthy choices for you and your family.
And on those days that you feel like a hot mess? Embrace that you don't have it all together, and then move on.
