There’s a brief second after your first alarm goes off in the morning where you ether decide to get up or you press snooze.
8 months ago I was pressing snooze every chance I got.
I didn’t want to get up and commute to work, only to sit in an office building all day long.
I didn’t want to face the fact that I was unhappy with my life.
I wasn’t able to see the bigger picture and put in the work to change the mundane.
Well, this morning, I didn’t press snooze on my life.
I got up and worked out, because you know I never miss a day.
I enjoyed a hearty breakfast, showered, and eased myself into the day.
Before, I would eat breakfast while walking to the bus, I survived chaos in 30 min increments throughout my day, and at the end of it all I’d usually end up passing out on my couch from extreme exhaustion.
For those who had to deal with my complaining during that time, I’m sorry, but I thank you for pointing out that I was clearly not in the place I was supposed to be.
At 23 years old, I was a college graduate, burnt out, overworked, unhappy, unfulfilled, and lonely.
I knew there had to be better days to come and my god, isn’t that the truth.
I’m here to show you that you shouldn’t be pressing snooze on your life. You should feel excited to get up in the morning because every day we have on this planet is a blessing.
If you don’t feel excited, that’s okay, but know, that might mean it’s time for you to change something in your life that may not be serving you anymore.
Not sure how to take the next step?
Don’t worry, I didn’t either.
The reason things changed for me is because I took a step out of my comfort zone.
I stopped pressing snooze and finally woke myself up.
I decided to start living a reality I chose for myself and let me tell you, this reality is so much better than I could have ever dreamed.
